DEWAYNNA HORN

TEXAS WOMAN’S UNIVERSITY, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT

Dewaynna Horn is an Associate Professor of Management at Texas Woman’s University where she teaches management courses in the Executive MBA Program at the Houston Campus. She holds a Ph.D. in Management from Jackson State University, an MBA from Millsaps College, and a B.S. in Business Administration from Belhaven University.  She was previously on faculty in the College of Business at Prairie View A&M University.  She worked in management roles in the banking/financial services industry for 10 years, specifically in the area of higher education finance.  Her research interests include organizational citizenship behavior, leadership, teams, positive job attitudes, and e-commerce success. Her research appears in several academic journals and she has presented her work at various national conferences, including the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM), and Southern Management Association.

To bridge the gap between theory and practice and to stay current in industry, she coaches teams and individuals, especially women in the workforce, on the same topics of her research.  She has served as a consultant for several female-owned small businesses.  She specializes in assisting business owners to write and revise their business plans to ensure a good fit with the internal and external environments in which they operate.
